Home For A Time (2023-)
Growing up in Malaysia, I was accustomed to young people living with their parents until marriage. Whilst share house culture is common in Australia, it was always a foreign concept to me when I first moved to Australia. I became interested in how young Australian adults are coping today with the cost of living crisis, and share houses was the logical place to look. Home for a Time looks at three different households in Brisbane, exploring the way young adults are creating communities, redefining the contemporary nuclear family and making a home for themselves in a temporary and fleeting environment.
These portraits have been made in collaboration with the subjects.
