Humidity(2021)

Humidity is my personal response to the emotional weight of a 3000km move to a new home in the tropics of far north Australia. In the quiet moments of stillness, I find myself questioning whether I made the right decision—caught between the familiarity of heat and the uncertainty of belonging. Humidity is not just a physical sensation but a process of feeling, an ongoing dialogue between body and place.

The oppressive warmth, thick air, and endless dampness blur my thoughts, making it hard to grasp exactly why I am here or what I am searching for. This environment stirs memories of Malaysia, where I grew up, and of family now seemingly a world away—made even more distant by the isolation of the pandemic.

Perhaps my idea of this place was never real, or perhaps it has changed beyond recognition. In this haze of heat and longing, I attempt to understand what "home" truly means.
